Jesus was a pimp

I finished reading the Davinci Code. Pretty good read. Fast paced. Could barely put the book down. I really liked how the author was able to weave historical characters and facts into the plot. Anyone notice a mention of Nicolas Flamel? Same one from the first Harry Potter book. My roommate walked by at one point and told me how outraged Christians are with the author, Dan Brown. I was almost done with the book at that point, so I thought I would have read whatever it was that upset them. But my roommate told me that apparently the uproar is because the book suggests that Jesus was a man. No fucking way, a living, breathing man?? One that could and did have children? Wow, how dare that concept be written down in a FICTIONAL book!! If someone doesn't like the idea, don't buy or read the book, end of discussion. I will never be able to understand these nutjobs that go and protest a book. Just like anyone is free to not read my blog.

True, I'm not a Christian, so it doesn't offend me or my beliefs. Hell, if truth be told, I personally agree with Brown's assertation. It makes more sense to me. I mean, get serious. There are too many similarities between Pagan and Christian celebrations, clearly an attempt to bridge people into Christianity. It also makes sense that the Church would try to belittle and or prosecute other faiths to shore up its own power. Let's not forget the Crusades, the Inquisition, etc. Need I go on? There were some potentially disparaging comments made about early Jewish practices, but I didn't go and start an email thread on Beth Shalom's mailing list about it.

Zealots are scary and that's all I have left to say on the subject. Almost. Check out these retards (yes, I know it's not a real church).

So many facts, so little space. I could write a book on stuff I found out about the religion in general, including at one point, they killed babies by impaling them on swords because they were 'heathen' children (A little known fact they try to keep hushed.) There was actually a religion before christianity. It was goddess-based. Christianity was one-part intentionally made to make it so that women had no way to make decisions, which pushed ahead a 'militant' age. If you look into history, almost all cultures except Egypt were anti-feminine because with women in power, militaristic nations wouldn't become developed. So you'll notice in most religions, they're made so that the women have very few rights. What better way than to accuse them of being the origin of sin? Hell, I'm only a few thousand generations down the road, why don't I pay for it too? Not only that, it was a very aggressive religion. "Join us or die" was the original, un-spoken motto. Look at the numbers still around.. Plus it was based on fear. "We are good god fearing folk" is something you'd used to hear.. Either way, maybe there's some truth in it, especially since it draws off of pagan traditions, but it's mostly crapola. Example: If Bush supposedly told someone else something in a position of minor power, like a senator, and Bush died, and the Senator wrote a book about Bush's deeds including his own opinions and everything, would people believe every word of it? I remember hearing an older passage from the bible which was *ahem* removed that started out like: "Eve was born from a crooked rib and therefore had crooked faith" before going on about her being the source of all evil. Oh yeah, look into the churches in medieval times. They owned pretty much everything. Isn't that a good reason to tax people to death?
